Terra Nova — first Newfoundland park

The one that opened the pattern.

The one that opened the pattern. Boreal coast, the icebergs still drifting past the Bonavista Peninsula in May, and a still-young Cherry figuring out what a national park was.

Two years living in Newfoundland by then, but somehow the first time we’d actually gone out to sleep in one of its parks. Everything after this — La Manche, Butterpot, Frenchman’s Cove, Dildo Run, Gros Morne — traces back to this weekend.

Placeholder body — the specific trailhead, campsite, or moment that made this one stick, in your own voice.
